Multiplicity

"Multiplicity" is a unique compilation of double bass ensembles
in which I have recorded all the tracks separately, so on the recording
the ensembles you hear are all performed by me. Being very interested
in chamber music and because to the best of my knowledge this has never
been done, I thought it would be interesting to put out a CD of double
bass ensembles recorded by one player.
The CD consists of a variety of double bass ensembles from duets to ensembles
with as many as 13 tracks. Some of the pieces were originally written
for double bass, and others such as Barber’s Adagio for Strings
and Villa-Lobos’ "Aria" from Bachianas Brasileiras No.
5 were transcriptions. The piece Notes from Uncommon Ascent was written
for me by Connecticut Composer Tom Schuttenhelm specifically for this
project.
